The collection represents my grandmother’s losses: the loss of her education, the loss of her choice of who to marry, the loss of her family when her husband took her to another city, the loss of her style, the loss of financial freedom, and the loss of her enemy. For the second half of the collection I wanted to focus on the loss of her identity and how she could not choose what to wear during one of the most fashionable times, although my grandmother always had style and good taste she could never show it during her youth because the money went for essential things and what was left my grandfather gave it to his mistresses so they could dress well.
