My principal characteristic is my ability to create new worlds, ideas, or collections in a couple of minutes; I focus on portraying the stories of the people who make a mark in my life through fashion by creating a fabric or a manipulation to express the life of the person I am presenting. I constructed these pieces using tailoring, patternmaking, and construction knowledge to last enough time to be passed through generations, maintaining the history of the pieces and creating a new one. Some of the key elements of my collection are the silhouettes I focused on, which come from my mother's body, which is also the normal Dominican body with a tiny waist and exaggerated hips. Another key element is the three colors I move toward: old pink (my characteristic color), olive green (because of the rice, which is the principal income in my city, a process I used to see), and dark brown (for all the trees I saw grow) I wish to create pieces with a strong history that connect with the people. Hence, they take care of it and cross generations with a new story they made for it, leaving a mark on a family, maintaining a memory alive, and giving a new history for the future. That's what I seek.

The collection represents my grandmother’s losses: the loss of her education, the loss of her choice of who to marry, the loss of her family when her husband took her to another city, the loss of her style, the loss of financial freedom, and the loss of her enemy. For the second half of the collection I wanted to focus on the loss of her identity and how she could not choose what to wear during one of the most fashionable times, although my grandmother always had style and good taste she could never show it during her youth because the money went for essential things and what was left my grandfather gave it to his mistresses so they could dress well.
