Roni Sasson
Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design Jerusalem
Hello, my name is Roni, and I had planned to be an economist with a year of experience, but fortunately, I retired in the middle of my degree and decided to pursue my passion and study design. I knew I had made the right decision when my supervisor told me at the final project ceremony that I am a designer with a creative approach devoid of inhibitions and preconceived beliefs about how things operate today. I am a person who avoids insoluble problems, enjoys turning 'no' into 'yes', and can be both patient and short-tempered. As an industrial designer, I strive to mediate not only between the user and the product, but also between the user and their environment. My role is to create products with lower carbon footprints by changing consumption concepts, techniques, and production materials. My mother, a shopaholic, is my source of inspiration. While some children grow up playing with balls, I grew up surrounded by shoes, which had a significant impact on my final project. For my final project, I focused on natural latex as a sustainable design material, aiming to develop innovative processing methods that consider the entire product lifecycle to promote eco-friendly and aesthetically pleasing design.
