Only Natural challenges young creatives to be part of the movement towards a sustainable future. We highlight a new way forward; a way that puts natural materials at the heart of design.

Be part of the inaugural Only Natural competition. Place nature at the forefront. Slow current production cycles. Showcase your talent – and help us redefine design!

Our campaign is committed to the preservation of our planet. In the age of environmental challenge, Only Natural aims to slow down producer and consumer cycles and offer sustainable alternatives.

The competition is open to students in higher education or those who have graduated in the past two years (2022 and 2023). Designs can be entered into two competition events – Fashion (categories: footwear, apparel and accessories) or Home (categories: furniture, interiors). Submitted designs should be made from using a minimum of two natural materials ranging from hemp to wool, wood to cotton (other materials include, but are not limited to, bamboo, leather, mohair, hemp and cork).

Entrants will be judged by a panel of industry experts, including fashion designer and consultant Jens Laugesen, who commented about the competition; “Only Natural not only promotes the idea that designers should return to using natural fibres but, by association, fosters the encouragement to return to the craft of design and making by your hands alongside using the digital tools available. I look forward to collaborating on this amazing project.”

There will also be a People’s Choice award, selected by a  public vote from a shortlisted group of entries. Prizes will include the coveted Only Natural winner’s trophy, a framed certificate and promotion across all Only Natural social channels. More details of prizes and the judges line up will be revealed throughout the duration of the competition’s entry phase.

Entries are now open to those currently in higher education or who have graduated in the past two years (2022-2023). Submissions close on May 31st, 2024.
