Only Natural will be in the Danish capital to take part in 3daysofdesign this summer (10-12 June), showcasing a selection of winning designs as part of the second edition of Material Matters Copenhagen. It marks its first showcase outside of the UK – a natural next step in the programme’s evolution.
The presentation will feature a curated capsule of the competition’s winning submissions that have been selected by Material Matters’ Grant Gibson, bringing together projects from competition winners stretching the globe including Yu Watanabe from Japan (2025 Interiors & Home Overall), Sriya Reddy from India (2025 People’s Choice) Mingyu Xu from China (2024 Furniture) and Molly Wade from the Isle of Man (2024 Apparel & Fashion Overall). Spanning fashion and home, the selection reflects a shared focus on material integrity, longevity and the possibilities of working with natural fibres.
Set within one of Europe’s most respected design festivals, the Material Matters Copenhagen showcase places these emerging designers – and their work – directly within an international conversation around materials, sustainability and future design practice.
For Only Natural, moments like this are an important part of the wider programme. What began as a student competition is increasingly creating real-world opportunities – giving early-career designers visibility, context and a platform beyond the classroom.
As the competition continues to grow, more opportunities like this will follow – connecting emerging talent with global audiences and ensuring natural materials are part of core conversations.
