ETERNAL VITALITY
Kingston School of Art, London, UK

Bingbing Bai, a fashion designer and researcher with six years of study in fashion, explores the responsibilities of design through a holistic approach to the garment life cycle. Her project Eternal Vitality integrates sustainable practice and artistry, using vegetable-tanned leather to create timeless lifestyle pieces that celebrate material integrity and craftsmanship.

Employing traditional leather sewing techniques, each piece is handmade without dyes, preserving the natural colour of Tuscan vegetable-tanned leather – a by-product of the European meat and dairy industry. Through carving, moulding and shaping, Bai highlights the leather’s organic vitality, guided by principles of the golden ratio.
Every silhouette in Eternal Vitality reflects the endless rhythms of nature, honouring craft while proposing a sustainable, enduring role for leather in contemporary fashion.
