Peaceful
Category: Interior
My creative inspiration stems from my daily commute and the moments of calm I find amidst the routine. Although walking to and from school is often tiring and monotonous, I find a sense of tranquility in the seemingly ordinary objects around me, such as roadside fences and bike racks. Their "U" shapes, simple yet striking, offer me a moment of relaxation and reflection amidst the rush. From these elements, I have extracted the "U" shape as the central motif of my work, expressing an inner sense of peace and connection to nature. For the materials, I chose wool and cotton, working with plant-based dyes to infuse the piece with the colors of nature. Using avocado pits for dyeing, I brought out soft shades of pink, white, and cream, reflecting the warmth and simplicity of the natural world. Additionally, I incorporated lace—a delicate technique that symbolizes the intricate beauty of nature—into my creation. The combination of different fibers and dyeing methods gives the piece a unique blend of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary sensibility. The final piece is a patchwork of lace fragments, all based on the "U" shape motif, made using a variety of threads, colors, and techniques. Each lace piece is carefully crafted to form a composition that expresses both the beauty of nature and my personal sense of calm. Through this work, I aim to convey the harmony between myself and nature, and the quiet moments of peace I seek in the fast-paced rhythm of everyday life.
