Tequila Bar Stool
Category: Furniture
The Tequila Bar Stool is a flat-pack design that blends heritage with innovation, celebrating Mexican culture through a playful, intentional material palette. Traditional cowhide scraps, sourced from waste, are paired with Desserto cactus leather, which is a sustainable, low-impact material grown in Mexico. Designed at both bar and counter height, the stool balances strength with comfort, aiming to improve the often-overlooked ergonomics of bar seating. Inspired by personal values and a background in Environmental Science, the design reflects a deep-rooted commitment to sustainability and circularity: every component is replaceable, recyclable, or biodegradable. For the seat filling — although not included in the prototype — I have referenced coconut coir and wool batting due to their natural origins and biodegradability. The result is a product that proves luxury, comfort, and environmental responsibility can—and should—coexist.
