Fox Hunt Pageant

Category: Apparel

This is Fox Hunt Pageant, an A/W collection that explores the quiet rage of aristocratic wives left at home while their husbands embark on on a fox hunt. This past summer I reread Gilman’s the Yellow Wallpaper and introduced myself to Woolf’s a Room of One’s Own. After reading these works I decided I would make a collection for a woman that can’t be confined within the domestic sphere. Drawing inspiration from equestrian menswear, the garments reclaim heritage tweeds reimagined through a feminine lens, and softened with crystals, pearls, and patterned silks. The result is a collision of domestic confinement and opulent spectacle—an imagined pageant that questions whether these women will remain caged or claim something new.
