Hyompora, This project is inspired by nature and specifically wetland conservation. My bedroom window over looks an RSPB nature reserve in Weymouth and most mornings I go for walk around the reserve taking photos, birdwatching and drawing. This is something that I find inspiring and therapeutic. This links to my tile meaning tranquillity when hearing the sounds of water. I also wanted to highlight wetland conservation as part of my theme as its so important and a big part of why the Reserve is there. I designed this collection for a high-end luxury interior context, so wanted to use a range of materials to create a collection with texture that flowed together. I sourced some of my luxury fabrics in Paris to ensure my cottons and silk were of high quality as I wanted to dye them using Shibori processes. I outsourced my digital prints and ordered them online after reviewing my fabric choices using their swatch packs to insure the quality of material was there so it still aliened with my context. For my ceramic pieces I experimented with different glazes and techniques such as Raku to create unique and textured outcomes. My collection consists of fabric samples, wallpaper boarder, lampshades, Ceramic tiles, Ceramic lamp bases, Ceramic vase and a wool rug.
