As an Interior Architect and furniture designer, I am passionate about creating meaningful spaces that blend storytelling, functionality, and cultural diversity. My work focuses on hospitality and restaurant design, where I aim to craft immersive and memorable experiences through thoughtful spatial design and materiality. Inspired by nature and sustainability, I strive to bring a fresh perspective to contemporary design by integrating environmentally conscious approaches with innovative ideas. Alongside interior architecture, my interest in furniture design allows me to explore form, texture, and craftsmanship on a more intimate scale. Working in collaborative and international environments has shaped my adaptable and creative approach, encouraging me to design spaces and objects that feel authentic, timeless, and connected to people and their surroundings.

Designers: Cloudy Nguyen - Kingston University Hajnalka Gólya - Kingston University Re-peel Orange Lamp explores the possibility of treating food waste as a textile material. Instead of being viewed as a discarded organic by-product, dried orange peel was approached as a flexible surface that could be selected, stitched, assembled, and shaped. We explore how individual pieces of orange peel can be handcrafted into an organic textile-like layer through hand-stitching techniques. The resulting surface was mounted onto a cotton canvas, creating a beautiful lampshade. For the base, we carefully selected a green stain for the ash wood, creating a harmonious color palette that works naturally with the warm orange tones of the lamp. The lamp showcases the natural beauty of its materials while exploring a new way to reuse waste. When lit, the stitched orange-peel surface creates a warm glow that highlights the texture, color, and natural imperfections of the material. By reimagining orange peel as a textile rather than waste, the project explores new possibilities for circular design and material innovation, transforming an everyday discarded resource into a functional and meaningful object.
