I always had a love for music and the way strings instruments where made. After my graduation as a woodsculptor i worked with a guitar builder for 3 years where i combined my passion for music and wood. By using techniques from the acoustic guitar building world i make my furniture using only veneer, representing the thinness of the wood that is used as guitar wood.

Veneer is usually used to glue onto a carrier or to press into a certain shape. With this stool, veneer becomes the carrier of itself while it remains in its original shape. By making different tubes that are constructed in a well-considered way, the stool obtains its strength. By using waste veneer, a lot of solid wood is saved. The appearance of the solid appearance and the lightness of the material creates an interesting play between solidity and lightness, which is characteristic of the material veneer. Due to the well-considered gluing, the stool can be constructed from 3mm thick veneer while it can handle a weight of 200 to 250 kilos. Because the stool is made from waste veneer, this means that veneer not only becomes the carrier of itself, but also that sufficient work can be done around waste materials.
