This collection combines the layers and complexity of feminine forms found in nature, such as seashells and swans, with female rage in horror media and feminist activism in performance art. It targets a high-end, sustainable market, and experiments with a wide variety of textiles and processes, ranging from knit, screen print, fabric manipulations and dyeing. Sustainability is highlighted in certain garments by using dead-stock natural fabrics such as cotton voile and natural satin which uses up existing materials and preventing wastage and contribution to landfill. It also prevents using energy, resources and labour to create new materials. Natural dyes were also used which stops from polluting water sources and increases the ethical and environmental friendliness of the garments and the design/manufacturing process. The fabric was folded and tied using elastic band before dyeing, allowing for unique lines and shapes to be created on the garment which conveys the complexity of emotions and experiences within female rage. The unique shapes and silhouettes produced in this outfit also highlight the layers and complexity in how female rage is portrayed. The satin top and cotton voile skirt are also versatile items due to their thinner material, allowing them to be layering pieces during autumn/winter and stand-alone pieces in spring/summer, which increases wearability and functionality throughout the year. The trims used such as metal cover buttons increases the longevity of the garment, and allows for them to be reused at the end of the garments lifespan.
