I am a recent Textile Design graduate from Leeds Arts University with a passion for sustainable textiles, biodegradable biomaterials and material innovation. My work explores how waste based and renewable materials can be transformed into contemporary textile applications, combining hands on experimentation with digital design and traditional textile techniques. My final year project focused on Malai, a biomaterial made from coconut waste, where I investigated how innovative materials could be used to create fully biodegradable fashion and textile outcomes. Sustainability is at the centre of my practice, and I am passionate about developing materials and processes that contribute to a more responsible future for the textile industry. I enjoy pushing materials beyond their conventional uses, continually experimenting with new techniques and exploring how thoughtful design can create positive environmental impact. My ambition is to build a career within sustainable material innovation, helping shape the future of textiles through creativity, collaboration and responsible design.

Competitions: Home Competition 2026

This collection explores the creative potential of Malai Pure, a biodegradable biomaterial made from bacterial cellulose grown using coconut water waste. Inspired by the textures and geological formations of the natural landscape, I developed a series of woven surfaces for contemporary home interiors that celebrate the beauty of sustainable materials through craftsmanship and innovation. By combining traditional weaving techniques with laser cutting and material experimentation, the collection demonstrates how next generation biomaterials can be transformed into tactile, functional interior surfaces. Every decision throughout the project was guided by sustainability, ensuring the final outcomes remained fully biodegradable while highlighting the commercial potential of renewable materials. The project aims to encourage wider conversations around responsible material choices, showing that innovative biomaterials can offer both environmental benefits and high quality design solutions for the future of interior textiles.
