Fashion Artefact

I am a product designer specializing in accessories, with a passion for transforming innovative ideas into tangible, market-ready products. Having recently graduated, I am eager to advance my career in the fashion industry, where I can contribute to shaping contemporary trends and sustainable practices. My ultimate goal is to create accessories that not only complement the modern wardrobe but also embody functional art, making a statement while promoting eco-friendly materials and ethical manufacturing processes. In my recent professional journey, I have gained hands-on experience in various aspects of jewellery and accessory design. During my internship at Chengxi Studio, I collaborated closely with senior designers to brainstorm and collect materials for new collections, meticulously transforming design blueprints into detailed product specifications and three-view drawings. My role involved liaising with factories to oversee the production process, ensuring that each piece met our high-quality standards. At Hao Art Gallery, I served as an Exhibition Maintenance Assistant, where I was responsible for safeguarding exhibition artworks and assisting visitors, contributing to promotional educational activities such as lectures, forums, and workshops, and supporting administrative tasks. This role enhanced my ability to work in a team, communicate effectively, and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment. My academic background includes a Master's in Fashion Artefact from the UAL: London College of Fashion, where I graduated with Distinction. Here, I focused on collaborative realization, research methods, sustainable materials research, and leather studies. I also hold a Bachelor's degree in Product Design (Jewellery) from Shanghai Jianqiao University, where I honed my skills in commercial jewellery design, mixed materials design and crafting. Through these experiences, I have developed a keen eye for detail and a strong foundation in design principles, preparing me to make significant contributions to the fashion and accessories industry.

REBIRTH-1

Competitions: Fashion

The deepest destruction can bring about rebirth. The 'REBIRTH' project is made from pure egg material. and uses eggs as design elements. The breaking, shattering, and rebirth of eggs embody constant transformation. Artefacts, crafted from pure egg-based materials, showcase material innovation, and depict familiar life images through humorous deformation. Egg. Egg hammer. Egg box. Individuals are constantly deconstructed and reconstructed. Changing under conflict. 'REBIRTH' starts with 5g egg shells. Made from tens of thousands of grams of eggshells collected from London restaurants. This project's originality and innovation lie in transforming often-overlooked eggshells into meaningful artistic works, pushing the boundaries of new material exploration and setting new directions for sustainable design. This design approach not only improves material use efficiency but also establishes a new standard for environmental sustainability and ecological awareness through its unique processing techniques and design concepts. I believe that the works from the 'REBIRTH' project will be cherished for a long time. These pieces transcend material and form, becoming mediums that tell stories and inspire creativity, demonstrating an aesthetic value that can withstand the test of time and continue to breathe new life.
