Lily is an emerging fashion and textiles practitioner in Narrm/ Melbourne, driven by a philosophy to pursue a delicate quirkiness, through crafting wearable art with an emphasis on form and movement through sustainable materials. Based on the Mornington Peninsula, Lily's academic purists include an Associate Degree in Fashion Design and Technology at RMIT in 2021, and a Bachelor's Degree in Fashion (Design), including a semester at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles. Her professional journey includes experiences such as an internship at Australian label Bûl and undertaking a costume commission for the dance production 'Dear Ida' at La Mama theatre. For Lily, her fascination with material manipulation, garment construction, and visual communication fuels a multidisciplinary approach, producing sculptural garments that prioritize form and movement. She is captivated by the intersection of delicate, traditional textiles in combination with newer, disparate materials through exploring the fusion of sustainable and natural materials with innovative techniques while emphasizing the performative aspects and interplay between the body, attire, and itssurroundings. Lily is eager to delve deeper into the intricate relationship between fabric, silhouette, and body movement. She envisions exploring and expanding on her artistic family archive and curating new experiences through performance, art, dance, and movement.
