Hi! I am Ruzina Ruksar Shaik, a dedicated creative currently focusing my time, energy, and passion on pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design. I have always believed that interior design is far more than just arranging furniture or choosing color palettes; it is the thoughtful art of transforming structural environments into highly functional, expressive, and inspiring human experiences. Because of this belief, I love diving deep into complex spatial topics, solving intricate layout problems, and collaborating closely with other designers and clients who share a mutual passion for innovative, outside-the-box thinking. The fast-paced world of design requires constant evolution, and I actively balance my busy academic schedule through a continuous cycle of personal development. I dedicate my free time to learning new industry techniques, researching emerging architectural trends, and acquiring a diverse foundation of design knowledge. Whether I am exploring sustainable materials, analyzing spatial psychology, or studying historical design movements, this proactive approach to research keeps me inspired, creative, and motivated. Ultimately, my goal as a developing interior designer is to merge aesthetic beauty with absolute utility. I look forward to taking on new design challenges, pushing creative boundaries, and connecting with fellow professionals in the industry. Please feel free to reach out if you would like to discuss current design trends, collaborate on upcoming creative projects, or simply share ideas!

Project Name: Ma: The Space Between Design Concept: Sustainable Wabi-Sabi Dining Collection Concept Narrative: Ma: The Space Between is a sustainable dining collection rooted in the Japanese philosophy of Ma—the artistic appreciation of negative space, mindful pauses, and structural emptiness. Designed to bring a profound sense of serenity and tranquility to the dining experience, this collection challenges the consumer culture of mass-produced, synthetic furniture. Instead, it invites users to slow down, practice mindfulness, and connect deeply with the raw honesty of natural materials. The empty space surrounding the table and chairs is just as intentional as the furniture itself, encouraging necessary visual and mental rest. Design Philosophy & Materials: The collection features a minimalist dining table and matching dining chairs crafted with a philosophy of unrefined elegance and Wabi-Sabi imperfection. Rejecting all plastics, synthetic polymers, toxic finishes, and animal-derived components like leather or fur, the design honors the natural lifecycle of plant-based materials: ●Table & Chair Frames: Crafted using responsibly sourced, unpolished solid wood that celebrates organic grain variations, natural knots, and raw textures. ●Traditional Joinery: The structural elements are united by a central interlocking wedged mortise and tenon hub joint. This 100% zero-hardware mechanical system relies entirely on master woodworking craftsmanship instead of metallic fasteners or chemical glues. ●Chair Backrests: Made from hand-woven, open-weave natural cane. As a 100% biodegradable, rapidly renewable plant fiber, the cane adds a rich, tactile dimension. When light streams across these woven surfaces, it creates a gentle interplay of shadow and warmth, evoking a calm, meditative atmosphere during daily dining rituals. ●Upholstered Seating: The chairs feature comfortably upholstered seats engineered with strict eco-conscious integrity. The cushions utilize a natural latex core wrapped in biodegradable organic slub linen fabric, completely rejecting synthetic petroleum-based foams. Sustainability Statement: By prioritizing minimalist structural forms and raw, plant-based textures, Ma: The Space Between serves as an eco-conscious sanctuary. It stands as a physical proof that true modern luxury lies in simplicity, absolute sustainability, and quiet beauty.
