I’m a creative with a deep love for making things and an instinctive eye for detail. Styling and bringing ideas to life is where I thrive, turning inspiration into something tangible is always exciting for me. My work is rooted in storytelling and connection, and my most recent collection draws from the richness of African heritage. I’ve explored natural, earthy color palettes and worked exclusively with 100% pure cotton fabrics and waxed cotton to honor both tradition and sustainability. Whether I’m styling a look or building a garment from the ground up, I aim to create pieces that feel authentic, grounded, and expressive.

African Heat

Category: Apparel

Competitions: Fashion Competition 2025

African Heat is a collection deeply inspired by the architectural heritage, traditional artistry, and vibrant cultural identity of the African continent—specifically the East African region. Rooted in ancient aesthetics and brought to life through a modern lens, this collection seeks to create a profound sense of home, belonging, and timeless elegance. Drawing from the organic warmth of traditional African huts and the symbolism embedded in geometric art, the collection incorporates structural silhouettes and textured layering to reflect the form and function of ancestral architecture. Earth-toned colors—rich in ochres, terracottas, deep browns, and sunlit golds, anchor the collection in the natural landscapes of the motherland. At the heart of African Heat is the use of waxed fabric, locally known as kitenge in East Africa. Traditionally used as cotton wrappers for both ceremonial and everyday wear, kitenge holds deep cultural significance and visual power. In this collection, the fabric is reimagined through contemporary tailoring, binding, and sculpting techniques, transforming it into modern silhouettes while preserving its heritage. Cowrie shells, once a form of currency and now symbols of femininity, protection, and craftsmanship, are used as embellishments. Their inclusion pays homage to the artisanal skills passed down through generations and the Swahili coast’s historical maritime legacy. By merging tradition with innovation, African Heat offers a bold, sophisticated expression of cultural pride, designed for individuals who value heritage, storytelling, and modern fashion with meaning.
