Yejin (Isuh) Lee
Fashion Institute of Technology
Hello my name is Isuh (preferred name) Yejin Lee and I am currently soon to graduate the Fashion Design Associate's program of Fashion Institute of Technology New York. I am Korean American based in Los Angeles, California but soon(by summer) to move to South Korea to advance career prospects enhancing my creative direction and technical craftsmanship finishing Bachelor's at Paris or Antwerp. My first fashion emotion came from observing color and form before I had the words to explain them. As a Korean child growing up between languages, I often felt present but unheard, speaking for my parents in a country that was still unfamiliar to me. In that space, I learned to observe more than speak. Color, proportion, and silhouette became the way I interpreted the world around me. I was fascinated by how a few lines or shapes could shift the body’s presence — how clothing could alter proportion, exaggerate movement, or create a new balance around the figure. It felt like drawing directly onto the body. Clothing became an extension of that discovery: a language that could communicate without translation. It was the first medium through which I understood that form itself could speak. As vision-driven fashion designer, I craft complex, intricate garments as my personal language, building entire worlds from concept to completion. Grounded in heritage and artisanal craftsmanship, I seek my fashion career shaping a globally relevant, sustainable design voice.
