I'm Mariela Garcia, a recent graduate with a BFA in knitwear design from FIT. My work empowers plus-sized individuals by embracing diversity. Influenced by my Dominican heritage, I prioritize sustainability and inclusivity, sourcing materials locally from Afro-Latino businesses and promoting zero waste, giving back to and protecting my community. My vision is to make ethical, sustainable fashion accessible for all while honoring my cultural values.
