I’m Sam Ettayfy, a Moroccan-born designer and the founder of WHITEROOMSTUDIOS. I spent three years studying engineering before realizing I needed to follow what I really cared about, which was fashion. I do most things myself — pattern-making, sewing, figuring things out as I go. I care a lot about how things are made and how they feel, not just how they look. I’m drawn to clothes that feel lived-in and personal, like they hold some kind of weight or story. WHITEROOMSTUDIOS is the space I created to slow down, clear my head, and make work that actually feels like me.

WHITEROOMSTUDIOS_01 explores the aesthetics of structure through a collection built from real leather, chrome hardware, natural-dyed denim, and recycled nylon. Focused on the physicality of clothing, the work reflects ideas of control and transformation, where garments hold weight, tension, and the possibility of release. This collection is rooted in an interest in structure, resistance, and the transformative potential of clothing. I’m drawn to materials that carry mass and presence . ones that shape the body, resist ease, and tell a story over time. Each garment is designed to evoke protection, control, and exposure, using construction as a tool to reflect human emotion and experience. On a material level, “Second Skin” is a rejection of fast fashion. I source real leather, a natural by-product often wasted, and pair it with natural fiber fabrics and recycled nylon to create garments that are built to last, both visually and physically. In an effort to reduce waste during development, I integrated CLO 3D technology into my design process, allowing me to prototype and fit digitally before cutting any physical samples. This not only saves materials but ensures precision at every stage of the build. This collection is a statement: that fashion can be sustainable, emotionally resonant, and aesthetic without compromise. It offers a world where garments are lived in, carried, and remembered not discarded.
