Anshika Verma

I am a passionate fashion and apparel design student with a strong interest in conceptual storytelling, sustainable innovation, and craft-based design. My work focuses on creating garments that carry emotional depth, cultural narratives, and meaningful human connections rather than following conventional fashion trends. I enjoy exploring the relationship between art, spirituality, heritage crafts, and modern design practices, and I aim to translate these ideas into wearable forms through experimentation with silhouettes, textures, and unconventional materials. My design approach is deeply inspired by nature, human emotions, Indian philosophy, and personal experiences. I often integrate handcrafted techniques, surface embellishments, textile manipulations, and sustainable materials to create unique visual narratives. I am particularly interested in combining traditional Indian craftsmanship with contemporary aesthetics to preserve cultural identity while making it relevant for modern audiences. Over time, I have worked on projects inspired by themes such as the Bhagavad Gita, emotional healing, family bonds, and wearable therapeutic concepts. These projects have helped me develop skills in concept development, research, storytelling, mood-board creation, garment visualisation, and presentation design. I believe design has the power to inspire awareness, emotion, and transformation. Through every project, I strive to create thoughtful and expressive designs that connect people with deeper meanings and authentic experiences. Participating in the Only Naturals Design Competition is an opportunity for me to further explore sustainable creativity and present my perspective on responsible and emotionally driven fashion design.
