Aura is a sustainable lampshade crafted using bagasse fibers,the fibrous residue left after extracting juice from sugarcane, which is often discarded or burned, contributing to environmental pollution. This design aims to highlight the potential of transforming agricultural waste into functional and aesthetically appealing products. The lampshade is composed of two parts: the upper portion is a handwoven spherical form made through coiling techniques, showcasing the natural texture and flexibility of bagasse fibers, while the base is an upcycled glass bottle. This handcrafted piece blends natural aesthetics with everyday functionality, offering an eco-friendly lighting solution that promotes waste upcycling and supports artisanal techniques. Aura stands as a symbol of conscious design where sustainability, craft, and creativity come together to illuminate more than just a space.
