London College of Fashion
I am Fuling Kuo, a Taiwanese Costume Designer with over nine years of experience creating costumes for a diverse range of performances, including drama, musicals, dance, opera, immersive theatre, advertisements, and film. Currently pursuing a Master in Costume Design for Performance at London College of Fashion, I have continually honed my skills, obtaining advanced certifications in Kitsukeshi from Kimono Karutya Kenkyuuzyo and winning the World Stage Design Gold Award for Emerging Costume Designer in 2022. My academic background includes a MFA in Theatrical Design and Technology from Taipei National University of the Arts and a BA in Chinese as a Second Language from National Taiwan Normal University. Throughout my career, I have focused on creating artworks that resonate on a profound level, exploring themes of humanism, identity shaped by colonial histories, and the transformative power of disabilities. I believe that successful designs should narrate meaningful stories that engage audiences and invite them to reflect on their experiences. My vision is to craft attire that inspires dreams and imagination, evoking magical moments for those who wear them. I take pride in my ability to connect deeply with social issues, using my art as a medium for healing and discourse, whether addressing colonial identities or exploring the significance of scars as remnants of the past. 2024-2025 MA Costume Design for Performance in London College of Fashion, London, United Kingdom 2023 Kitsukeshi Advanced Certificated by Kimono Karutya- Kenkyuuzyo 2022 World Stage Design Gold Award for Emerging Costume Designer 2021 Kitsukeshi Primary Certificated by Kimono Karutya- Kenkyuuzyo 2016-2019 Master of Fine Arts in Theatrical Design & Technology, Taipei National University of the Arts (TNUA), Taipei, Taiwan 2011-2014 Bachelor of Arts in Chinese as a Second Language, National Taiwan Normal University, Taipei, Taiwan
