Benjamin is an emerging designer with a passion for material exploration and innovation. He recently completed his MA in Material Futures at Central Saint Martins, where he deepened his expertise in bio-based and regenerative materials. His educational journey also includes a First Class Honors BA in Fashion Design from Lasalle College of the Arts and a Diploma in Experience & Product Design from Singapore Polytechnic. Benjamin's diverse skill set encompasses a wide range of design disciplines, spanning interior/space design, furniture, fashion garments, textiles, and consumer products. He has a comprehensive understanding of the textile manufacturing industry, having collaborated closely with experts throughout his career. Driven by curiosity and a commitment to sustainability, Benjamin is constantly seeking new ways to push the boundaries of design and create a positive impact on the world through his work.

ZERO WASTE SYSTEM : EXPANDABLE POROUS MATERIAL

My project reimagines fast fashion with a zero-waste, bio-material system. This alternative material, adaptable to existing manufacturing, is designed for planned obsolescence, with a lifespan ranging from days to months depending on the recipe. This addresses the unsustainable nature of fast fashion consumption while offering a practical solution for existing industries. By providing a viable alternative, we can elevate natural materials like cotton, silk, and wool, allowing them to be produced with the time and care they deserve, ultimately fostering a more sustainable fashion landscape.
