vittoria beconcini

NA

My name is Vittoria Beconcini, I am 22 years old and I live in Empoli, in the province of Florence. I graduated from a language high school, where I studied English, French, and Spanish. I chose to study fashion design because it was my childhood dream. I come from a large family where it’s impossible to get bored. In my free time, I love going on long walks just outside the city with music in my ears. I enjoy hiking in the mountains, I love ice cream and the sea—even in winter. I’m fond of going to concerts by my favourite artists.

C'era una volta una tovaglia

Category: Apparel

Competitions: Fashion Competition 2025

The capsule collection “C’era una volta una tovaglia” was created with the aim of delivering a message of hope about a critical issue: the environmental impact of fashion on our planet. I chose to tell the story of sustainability in a playful and lighthearted way—just as one would with children. The embroidery on the garments is inspired by the illustrations from the children’s book “The Story of a T-Shirt”, written by Matteo Ward in collaboration with the FAO, and reinterpreted through the creative and spontaneous hand of a child’s drawing. I wanted to give a second life to fabrics—mainly natural fibers—sourced from blankets, tablecloths, and bedsheets, which I sustainably re-dyed. The ceramic buttons are shaped like the T-shirt, the main character of the book, while the piping adds a fun detail that evokes the world of childhood.
