Hello! My Name is Ciara Du Bose. I am a Black Creole American Fashion Design Student, soon to begin at the Savannah College of Art and Design! I began my professional career in high school after starting my first apparel manufacturing business and landing a contracted position at Snapchat in Digital Media Creation. This aided me in gaining more experience in roles like Artist Marketing and videography with Sony Music Entertainment, digital content McDonald's, EvaNYC and more! I am a self taught Designer and tailor and recently began taking bridalwear commissions under my company , Magnolia Society, which focuses on the merge between fashion and Black literature and media preservation. I am a GirlsWhoCode alumna, and plan to continue research in computer science in hopes to develop a patent for biodegradable 3D printed rhinestones. In the short form this new market would offer a more ethically produced alternative to silica and acrylic rhinestones commonly used in slow couture fashion. In the long run , I hope my research can lead to technological advancements for worker and environmental safety, in the way that glass products are manufactured on a global scale!
