Nature has become my teacher. By closely observing the creatures that I once feared, I gradually realized that fear often comes from misunderstanding. What seems frightening at first can, through careful and patient observation, reveal patterns, beauty, and even a sense of comfort. In this process, I learned that understanding has the power to transform fear into awareness, and awareness into a feeling of emotional safety. When I was a child, I was often afraid of being alone at home at night. I would sleep with the lights on because darkness made everything feel uncertain, and insects—especially those that appeared suddenly—made me feel uneasy and distant from nature. I avoided them without trying to understand them. However, as I grew older and began living independently, my relationship with nature slowly changed. I started to notice small details in the environment around me and even began to observe insects with curiosity rather than fear. Through studying moths, cocoons, and natural fibers, I discovered how nature itself creates systems of protection and softness. A cocoon, for example, is not only a shelter but also a transitional space of growth and transformation. Moths, often misunderstood, carry delicate textures and silent rhythms that reflect fragility and resilience at the same time. These observations led me to explore how natural structures can be translated into emotional meaning. This project transforms these experiences into clothing design. By using natural materials, layered textures, and organic forms, I aim to express comfort, warmth, and a sense of regained security. The garments become a second skin—offering protection not by separation from nature, but by reconnecting with it.
