Chiara Della Rocchetta

NABA Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti

Fashion&textile design

My name is Chiara and I ‘m 25 years old. I have had a passion for art since I was a child. Encouraged by my seamstress mother, I began studying in the fashion field by attending the G. Palizzi Art School in Lanciano. After graduating I continued my studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome with which I had the opportunity to be selected to participate in the Altaroma 2021 fashion show during the Roman Fashion Week. And then i won a scholarship at the NABA in Milan where he attended the two-year specialist course in Fashion & Textile design. In this school I was fascinated by the many textile methods that exist to create garments and fabrics. I became passionate about both machine and hand embroidery and digital printing but above all silk-screen printing, experimenting with different techniques, for example the pad printing technique In difficult times like the pandemic, where life was less hectic, I stayed fascinated by the sense of freedom transmitted by the clouds and by the special effects caused by nature, thus finding inspiration for my project which takes its name from the Latin "Fasmate". Fasmate refers to illusory cloud formations, produced by the effects of light from the sun and moon. It is a project that tries to revive the childish part that hides in an adult and return to that period of carefreeness by rediscovering the simplicity and purity which are among the values of human life that only the child still seems to have.

Generazioni intrecciate

"Generazioni Intrecciate" draws inspiration from the lives of my grandparents, exploring their stories and experiences. I was inspired by the poverty and emigration of the 1960s, events that profoundly impacted my grandparents' lives. I chose to maintain ample volumes for the coats as if they were meant to hide someone, and I referenced sustainability by using recycled fabrics, natural dyes like coffee, and exclusively adopting buttons. Additionally, I decided to continue this story by involving companies such as Kent and Manteco. This collaboration allowed me to ensure the highest representation of materials like wool and silk in my collection, thanks also to the partnership with the brand Hemineinai. The choice of the "Presentosa" as an embroidery symbolizes a connection to one's home, but it has been reworked to bring to light both the old and the new, allowing us to look forward without ever forgetting where we come from.

We live each moment of our lives trying to learn from our experiences, often forgetting the things that have truly marked our journey. The experiences we have as children are what allow us to become the people we are today, whether they are joys or fears. We must delve into the past and confront our fears to be able to live in the present. As a child, it was dolls that frightened me—a cold, lifeless ceramic body covered in large garments. From this fear came the need to study their history, paying attention to the garments that characterized 19th-century dolls. Based particularly on the Victorian era, the capsule collection consists of corsets, body-hugging garments, stockings, puffed sleeves, and wide skirts, largely inspired by the patterns created by costume designer and teacher Janet Arnold. The choice of the "Presentosa" as a print and the use of handmade materials like linen torselli symbolize a connection to one's home, but they have been reworked to bring to light both the old and the new, allowing us to look forward without ever forgetting where we come from.

Essence

The Hemineinai Menswear Capsule Collection is a sartorial journey that blends tradition with innovation, inspired by a timeless man—one who embodies both modern essence and contemporary depth. The name Hemineinai, meaning “our being”, reflects the duality of a man who moves between conscious adulthood and a dream-filled youth, always seeking balance between growth and authenticity. “Essenza” is based on the idea of relaxed elegance, entirely crafted from high-quality jersey. This fabric, lightweight yet structured, offers a fresh take on formalwear—garments that softly embrace the body while ensuring unrestricted movement. It’s ideal for those who want to express refinement without compromising daily comfort. The collection draws inspiration from the Abruzzese man—a figure rooted in heritage, yet open to the future. He walks both mountain paths and metropolitan streets, with a heart grounded in nature and eyes set on new possibilities. Stitching details and a palette of earthy tones and deep blues, reminiscent of the Abruzzo landscape and the Adriatic Sea, celebrate the spirit of a resilient and beautiful land. This capsule delves into the inner dialogue of a man striving to grow without forgetting his origins. Clean, contemporary lines are contrasted with playful, vintage-inspired details—such as workwear-style pockets or visible seams that recall the innocence of boyhood. The suit becomes a symbol of harmony between achieved maturity and authentic identity. Sustainability is integral to this project: several pieces incorporate leftover fabric scraps from a garment manufacturing company that operates with solar energy, giving a second life to discarded materials. This approach unites ethical responsibility with creative vision, reducing environmental impact.
