I am a Scandinavian designer with a special interest in knitwear and materiality – manifesting itself in simplistic designs that let the interaction between fibre and construction guide the visual expression. My design practice often focuses on the properties of materials, and I strive to let the details and subtleties make each garment special. I use almost exclusively natural fibres and have done so for many years. In a holistic design process, I do my utmost to adopt a more sustainable approach, thinking of fibres and their impact first. This has led me to specialise in knitwear – which holds the potential to create garments more sustainably compared to conventional cut-and-sew construction, by limiting textile waste through producing pieces as fully fashioned knitwear. Furthermore, it has the unique ability to be controlled and manipulated through construction, binding, and fibre choice.
