Dear respected judges and guests, Hello everyone. My name is Zhang Zihan, a sophomore majoring in Fashion Design. It is my great honor to take part in this nature‑themed fashion design competition and share my design concepts with you all. Since I stepped into the field of fashion design, I have always believed that clothing is not only a carrier of aesthetics, but also a medium to convey emotions, philosophies of life and the power of nature. I am deeply fascinated by the mysterious and profound laws of nature, among which the life‑and‑death cycle of flowers has become the core inspiration of my creation. My design theme centers on the cycle of life and death of flowers. From budding, blooming and flourishing to withering, fading and returning to the earth, flowers interpret the eternal cycle of life in a gentle yet powerful way. In my opinion, withering is never the end of life, but a quiet transformation and rebirth. Every faded petal bears traces of vitality, and every fallen bloom breeds possibilities for new life. I try to integrate this unique rhythm of life into garments through fabric selection, color matching, structural cutting and detailed decoration. I use soft and flowing materials to show the graceful posture of blooming flowers, adopt low‑saturation dark tones to present the state of withering, and combine layered structures to express the transition and alternation between life and death. As a young design student, I observe nature carefully in daily life and draw creative inspiration from the change of seasons and the growth of plants. I hope my works can arouse people’s reflection on life, let people feel the beauty and power hidden in the cycle of life, and make fashion design a bridge connecting human beings and nature. I am eager to receive professional guidance and valuable experience through this competition, continuously improve my design skills, and explore more possibilities of integrating natural vitality into fashion design. I sincerely hope you can feel my understanding and passion for life and nature behind my works.

Titled Bloom Breath · Creation and Fading, this design takes floral shapes as the core repeating motif, covering the full life cycle forms including buds, fully bloomed petals and withered residual petals, as well as simplified calyx and stamen structures to construct natural outlines. Fabrics feature three major textures: dense felt texture formed by hand needle felting, hazy sheer texture created by organza and lace, and faded frayed texture of aged yarn, forming striking material contrasts. The overall style is organic and fluid. The main silhouettes are elegant and flowing, with structured details only at the bud-shaped cinched waist and 3D floral decorations to balance the look. The colour palette shifts from bright and vivid hues for blooming stages to soft melancholic beauty tones for the withering phase. Garment patterns such as bud-style cinched-waist tops and layered petal skirts are adopted, combined with three-dimensional embroidery and floral collage craftsmanship. Kinetic opening-and-closing structures are installed at necklines and hems to simulate the breathing rhythm of flowers. Drawing on the cyclic rhythm of blooming and fading, the design conveys the contradictory trait of life being vibrant yet fragile, interpreting poetic aesthetics where resilience lies beneath fragility.
