Yuxuan (Monica) Shang is a textile designer and researcher based in New York City, currently pursuing an MFA in Textile Design at Parsons School of Design. With a background in Biological Sciences from UCSB, Monica’s work bridges science and textile innovation, focusing on sustainable materials, natural dyeing techniques, and the intersection of traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design. Monica specializes in bacterial dyeing and eco-friendly material development, exploring how biological processes can inform new approaches to textile production.
