brief To design and make 10 luxury craft goods to sell at a craft fair. My aspirations were to celebrate a natural product, whilst being practical and made out of only regenerative materials. concept The Baa Bag is made of 100% regenerative materials. Comprising mainly of Shetland sheep wool, sourced locally in Fife from sheep raised on an organic farm owned by a friend. I wanted to see if you could design and make a product from only natural materials, where the materials and the environment are the focus. ideation I began by thinking what products could be made with felt, and what people would deem as a luxury good. I settled on a cross body bag. I experimented with different colours and strap layouts, and considered natural plant dyes. However, after seeing the fleeces, I decided not to use dyes, as the fleeces were inherently beautiful and could not be improved.
