Before my studies at the Estonian Academy of Arts, I studied tailoring at the Tallinn Industrial Education Center. During the four academic years, I spent one semester studying abroad with the Erasmus program in Denmark, Design School Kolding. The Danish school and Danish design, in general, are aimed at the design of so-called ready-to-sell products, and when I was there, I realized that I like the more artistic side of fashion, where the boundaries are blurred and there is enough room to play. IN the past, I have had the goal of creating my own materials, forms, and textiles - through this process, I have more control over my work. And from there, the desire to depict recognizable objects and emotions of real life in knitwear has grown.

Competitions: Fashion Competition [Now Closed]

We have a tradition in my family that we celebrate every birthday behind a long table and other important events as well. We cook our food, whilst I usually bake a cake. We all sit together, enjoy our meal and this moment that we have created together. We laugh and we tell stories from the past. In general, I like to set the table as well. I always yearn to decorate it, depending on the season and the party. Whenever we have those celebrations, we always use tableware that is decades old and has been in our family for a long long time, dating back mostly to the Soviet times. Oddly, for everyday meals we rarely use Soviet tableware, just some forks and knives. Yet it has become a tradition to use these historical pieces for special occasions, as over the years they have become more and more valuable for the members of the family. Though it reminds me mostly of my childhood, it brings back volumes of memories of daily life to my parents and grandparents. Hence, I believe that tableware has an important role behind the vibe we are having as we celebrate. For example, we can sit around the table for hours and hours; some may leave it to take a break from the feast, but the focal point of the event remains around the table. At times you think you have finished eating, but nooo, then it's time to eat cake, and drink some coffee, of course. And maybe, just maybe, after all that there is still some space for one more singirull (roll of ham stuffed with cheese)...
