The visual language of my practice emerges through an ongoing dialogue with material. I approach textiles as entities in their own right, often working them into tapestries or research objects that later inform the production of my garments. By maintaining a consistent energy in the process, I allow materiality to guide the structures fluidly as they develop. These slow reproductions began as a way to connect with my femininity on my own terms through a meditative practice of repetition, return, and creation outside of social binaries. I want the garments to amplify the wearer’s internal landscape. My work invites closeness and dialogue between the material and the body, as well as between the maker and the wearer.

Milk White Doe

Competitions: Fashion Competition 2026

The MilkWhite doe, inspired by my reimagining of the original poem by Andrew Lang, follows a young woman and her nightly episodes of panic. Leading her to run from her bed through a forest. believing she has been turned into a deer. I imagined her clutching a tattered sheet to herself and how forrest debrise would cling to her and gather in her bed. It was important that the materials reflected the conceptual elements of the project. I opted to use strips of deadstock silk, which I sewed into a single length. it was then dyed naturally with tea to create a unified piece of material. Green tea is naturally high in tannins, meaning it can be used as a dye without any of the chemicals typically associated with fabric dying. and draped to create the bottom section of the dress. The bodice is made from engraved deadstock leather.
