Fatoumata Cissé

University of Southern California

As a Bay Area-based designer, I’m interested in how couture-level craftsmanship and feminine design can be translated into commercially viable fashion products. Currently, I study Business Administration at USC Marshall while building Zara-Nisa, a modestwear brand focused on femininity, storytelling, and underserved markets. As a PVH Forward Fashion x FSF Scholar and Virgil Abloh “Post-Modern” Scholar (VAPM), I’m developing a perspective that bridges design, product development, and brand strategy. I’m seeking opportunities in product development and design to contribute to the creation of thoughtful, well-crafted, and scalable apparel.

Eutierria

Category: Apparel

Competitions: Fashion Competition 2026

Eutierria is a skirt-and-bolero ensemble that portrays the tension between longing for the Earth and being priced out of sustainable fashion. Made with jute, cotton muslin, silk chiffon, and 100% cotton batik, the garment challenges the idea that natural-fiber design must be plain, minimal, or reserved for luxury consumers. Through layered textures, garden-inspired embellishment, and a modest silhouette, Eutierria reframes sustainability as dignity, resourcefulness, and beauty made from accessible materials.
