Fisherman had been around for centuries, and as a fisherman must have while fishing and that is patience, persevere, responsible, self reliance, brave, and strong. It aligns with the concept of a stone archway. Even if its centuries old it stood tall as a reminder that a character’s traits stays consistent. Sadly fabric waste has the same traits. Cotton is one of the most common textile materials, and the waste cotton accounts for 24% of the total textile waste, while Linen makes up a much smaller fraction. Linen accounts for less than 1% of overall global fiber waste. For clothing that are made from 100% cotton, it took 1 too 5 months for the fabric to biodegrade, meanwhile clothing made out of linen took an average of 2 weeks for the fabric to biodegrade. Although compare to the synthetic counterparts, cottons and linen degrade a lot more quicker, it doesn’t justify the fact that out of trend clothing and fabric scraps made out of natural fibers should be discarded and left in the landfill. This Design wants to remind us that nature works with mankind, but most of the time mankind dose not work with nature. We use them and then we discard it, not understanding or aware of the consequences and impact it does to our environment. Thus, The Archway Valley design stands as a reminder that things does not go as easily as it appear. Sometimes once it is created, it stays with mankind for the rest of our existence.
