NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF DESIGN

I am a M.Des - Furniture & Interior Design student and an Architect deeply committed to sustainability, material exploration, and ecological consciousness. My practice focuses on creating experimental, freeform furniture that blurs the boundary between function and expression. I’m passionate about working with natural, reclaimed, and context-sensitive materials to craft pieces that are interactive, responsive, and emotionally engaging. Rooted in nature and inspired by organic systems, my designs aim to foster a deeper connection between people, objects, and the environment. I see furniture not just as functional elements, but as living, evolving entities that invite dialogue and enrich spatial experiences.

20’S-Wave Daybed

Category: Furniture

Competitions: Home Competition 2025

The 20’S-Wave Daybed is a fusion of simplicity, raw aesthetics, and organic movement — combining the comfort of a daybed with the gentle motion of a rocking chair. Crafted from split bamboo using lamination techniques and accented with traditional cane knots, the piece celebrates the rustic beauty and structural honesty of natural materials. The inspiration for the tied bamboo split construction comes from Kattumaram — a traditional watercraft of Tamil Nadu — known for its ingenuity and fluid assembly. A no to static seating lead to this design that promotes dynamic rest and relaxation. Rooted in versatility, 20’S-Wave encourages users to engage freely with its form, embodying the spirit of interactive, freeform furniture that encourages experimentation.
