Stanford University

I recently graduated from Stanford University with a Master of Science in Design. During my time at Stanford, I explored biomaterials and natural fibres, culminating in my thesis work, ewe, a sports bra made from regenerative wool. This project is a product of deep exploration, iteration, testing, and an undying desire to make the world a better place through the materials we interact with. Before Stanford, I graduated from Brown University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2018 and then went on to work as a mechanical engineer in the robotics industry for five years. I decided to go back to graduate school to pursue a more creative field and to dive into sustainability. While there, I became excited about textiles and soft goods. I am continuously fascinated by the intersection of old techniques and new technology and am excited to see how the field of biomaterials and biotechnology will evolve. I hope to continue to work within the textile and sustainability space now that I have graduated.

ewe: a sports bra made from regenerative wool

Category: Apparel

Competitions: Fashion Competition 2025

ewe is a sports bra made from regenerative wool for athletes that spend a long time being active in the outdoors. From hiking to trail running, ewe is a medium-impact sports bra that is made from the land we live on. Unlike synthetic bras that pollute microplastics and can leave us chafing, ewe is made from entirely natural fibres and has effective moisture management to minimize chafing while still providing support. It’s signature blue is made from a natural saxon blue dye that only works with natural protein fibres, championing the inherent qualities of wool. ewe is not just about apparel, fashion, sports or sustainability. It is about being a part of a larger collective of understanding what our clothing is made of and improving material literacy.
