Hi my name is Rose and I am a sustainable fashion designer based in North Wales UK. On social media, I share eco-fashion process videos and sewing techniques to educate my creative community and encourage sustainability conversations. I have repurposed bowling shoes into trousers, sneakers into gloves and upcycle as much as i can. I also run a small business where i handmake and sell reflective accessories, while practicing zero waste and pushing the boundaries of unconventional materials.

‘Maritime Sunburst’ is a project that upcycles bleach stained and distressed hair dresser towels for Spring/Summer 2024. Inspired by 1950s hair salon culture and the lichen Xanthoria parietina (Maritime Sunburst), the concept captures a feeling of freedom and fun in the sunshine. The textile’s natural drying properties makes the apparel functional by keeping you dry on the go and the natural signs of wear and frayed finish creates a grunge streetstyle look. Within the fibres lie many stories of happy customers showing off their brand-new hairstyles and identities. But now instead of ending up in landfill, the cloth lives on to experience many more stories to come. From beauty to beach to bistro, these pieces pave the way from beach coverup to something stylish and wearable while walking the promenade.
