M. Choudhary

I am a final-year BSc student and an emerging fashion designer developing conceptual fashion work through my independent creative practice, DeMonæ Foncé Atelier. My design approach explores the relationship between emotion, narrative, material, and identity. Rather than beginning with trends, I start with questions, memories, and human experiences, then translate them into garments that communicate ideas visually. I am particularly interested in creating fashion that carries symbolic meaning while remaining intentional in construction and material choice. My recent work focuses on themes such as transformation, resilience, memory, endurance, silence, and the changing relationship between people and the roles they inhabit. Through projects and self-directed collections, I explore how garments can become more than objects of appearance and instead function as visual stories. Alongside conceptual development, I am increasingly interested in sustainability and long-term material thinking. I value design approaches that encourage longevity, emotional connection, and more conscious use of resources. This interest has led me to explore combinations of natural and durable materials and to consider how fashion can communicate responsibility without losing artistic expression. Through DeMonæ Foncé Atelier, I aim to continue developing a distinct design language that combines storytelling, atmosphere, and thoughtful material decisions. My goal is to create work that is emotionally memorable, visually refined, and capable of contributing to broader conversations around fashion, identity, and the future of design. I see competitions and creative opportunities as spaces to challenge my thinking, strengthen my practice, and continue growing as a designer.
