Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD)
Textile designer Lola White explores the fleeting, sensual beauty of nature through richly embroidered and naturally dyed fabrics designed to evolve with time. Her work combines the watercolor-like quality of bundle dyeing with floral silhouettes and multilayered stitch work to create a style that is lush and refined. At the heart of White’s work is the belief in the need for a new kind of materialism, one that celebrates textile longevity and recognizes the connection between clothing, human experience, and our planet. Just as the sun’s warmth grounds us in our environment, the tactile pleasure of fabric on skin can ground us in our bodies. White is drawn to the way clothing can reconnect us with the natural world around us, encouraging a more mindful, embodied approach to living.
