Ana Luisa Braun a London-based jewellery artist working between geographies, materials and ways of making. She studied Product Design in Brasilia before moving to Paris, where she continued her studies and worked within the luxury industry. She later moved to London to complete an MA in Jewellery Design at Central Saint Martins. She also studied gemology at the Gemological Institute of America.

Shimmer Jewellery Collection

Competitions: Fashion Competition 2026

Shimmer is an exploration of Brazilian identity through the intersection of traditional craft and contemporary jewellery, using a material-led and culturally grounded approach. Each piece is realised through hand-making processes: dyeing, traditional weaving, and stone cutting, combined with digital fabrication methods, blending ancestral and contemporary techniques within a modern design language. Working directly with artisan communities, Braun introduces Brazilian vernacular materials, large Camurupim fish scales, pre-consumer food waste, and Capim Dourado (golden grass) a geo-site-specific plant with local cultural value, into contemporary jewellery, juxtaposing them with precious materials and precision-cut crystal loupes. The collection challenges our continuing dominant notions of “preciousness” and repositions craft as part of the true essence of luxury, grounded in human time, collective knowledge, and ethical collaboration. Bridging Brazil and Europe through design and meaningful narratives, Shimmer is intended for a culturally engaged audience that values innovation, unexpected materials and cultural preservation.
