I am a textile designer and material researcher. I earned my Textiles degree from OCAD University in Toronto, and now pursue studies in Material Future at CSM. My practice is rooted in material research, with a keen focus on fabrics. I see every connection as a destined meeting. Nature, alongside the diverse costumes, patterns and histories of ethnic groups worldwide, is my endless source of inspiration. Long-term life in China has also shaped my aesthetic with traditional local culture and natural elements. My cross-cultural experiences across multiple countries help me adapt easily to new communities. I enjoy group discussions, listening to different voices, exchanging ideas and bringing new inspiration to others while exploring innovative possibilities.

DOMAIN- Car seat crafted from Chinese medicinal plants

Competitions: Home Competition 2026

Inspired by the traditional knowledge of China’s Lisu ethnic minority, the project extracts functional compounds from local medicinal plants to create eco-friendly fibres with natural antibacterial properties. Integrating textile design and material science, the fibre is applied to a car seat, a surface in prolonged contact with the body and prone to heat and perspiration. The material helps regulate moisture and alleviate skin irritation, including redness, itching, and acne caused by overheating. By blending cultural heritage with sustainable innovation, the project offers a textile solution for everyday use, connecting traditional knowledge with modern application.
