Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design Jerusalem

Shira Akavia is a fashion and textile artist completing her final year in the Jewelry and Fashion Department at Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem. Growing up in a small village in northern Israel and receiving a Waldorf education shaped her attentive way of observing the world and her enduring connection to nature. Her practice investigates clothing as a site where inner experience meets external reality. Through symbols, materiality, and the body's relationship to weight and movement, she creates garments that translate emotional and spiritual states into a personal visual language.
