NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF DESIGN
Hi, I’m Aniruddha Deshpande — an industrial designer who finds joy in making everyday things more thoughtful, meaningful, and a little more fun. My work often lives at the intersection of utility, play, and emotion. I believe good design doesn’t just solve problems — it tells stories, builds habits, and quietly improves how we live. I’ve explored this philosophy through products like SNAP, a tense little tabletop game; Twilight Loom, a bedside lamp inspired by rituals of winding down; and Bonds, a collection of wooden toys that celebrates imagination over instruction. I’m especially drawn to projects rooted in sustainability and cultural relevance — like PurePouch, a hygienic and washable fabric cutlery case designed for everyday Indian routines. I studied at NID Ahmedabad, where I learned not just to design better things, but to think more deeply about why we make them in the first place. I value simplicity, craft, and a bit of whimsy in the design process. When I’m not sketching ideas or obsessing over form, I’m probably people-watching, playing board games, or getting lost in music.
