My name is Zheyi Wu, and I am a jewellery design student at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London. My practice focuses on the relationship between natural materials, craftsmanship, body adornment, and contemporary design. I am particularly interested in working with undervalued natural materials such as mother-of-pearl, horn, wood, and silk, exploring how they can be transformed into objects that feel both emotionally meaningful and commercially relevant. Through jewellery and wearable objects, I aim to create designs that are durable, non toxic, repairable, and capable of developing a personal connection with the wearer over time. My work often combines traditional hand skills with contemporary visual language. I am interested in sustainability not only as a material choice, but as a way of designing objects that people want to keep, repair, and continue using rather than quickly replace.
