University of Applied Sciences Düsseldorf
Düsseldorf, Germany
Hochschule Düsseldorf – University of Applied Sciences (HSD for short) was founded on 1 August 1971
by combining several renowned regional educational institutions. Today, HSD is one of the largest universities of applied sciences in the German Federal State of North Rhine-Westphalia and offers a comprehensive and interdisciplinary range of subjects. More than 11.000 students are taught in 40 studyprogrammes in seven faculties by nearly 200 professors.
The educational and research emphasis at HSD has a strong practical and interdisciplinary approach. Course contents are connected to practical work necessities since they are based on our professors’ and lecturers’ extensive professional experiences in commerce, industry and research. Thus, practical courses are indeed an integral component of the study programmes. In addition, HSD has contact with companies and institutions that offer internships and part-time jobs in Germany as well as abroad – particularly in engineering, social and cultural sciences and business studies. Mentors supervise students before, during and after the internships.
