Newcastle College is a large further education and higher education college in Newcastle upon Tyne. It is the largest further education college in the North East of England and one of the largest in the United Kingdom. Newcastle College is part of the NCG group of colleges. Newcastle College’s main campus is at Rye Hill, near Newcastle city centre, with four satellite sites for its School of Engineering. These include the Newcastle Aviation Academy near Newcastle International Airport, the Rail Academy in Gateshead, the Energy Academy in Wallsend, and the Automotive Academy on Scotswood Road. Construction of a new Sixth Form college at Rye Hill began in 2011, designed by RMJM, and opened in 2014 as Newcastle Sixth Form College. It now operates independently as a division within NCG
